BHS-Sonthofen expands business into North America

By establishing a „Mixing Division“ in the USA, BHS-Sonthofen will now service customers in North America through its own sales organization. The U.S. subsidiary BHS-Filtration Inc. in Charlotte, N. C. is united by the „Mixing Division“. Moving forward, all North American customers will be serviced directly from the Charlotte facility.

This new sales organization enables BHS-Sonthofen to provide superior services to its North American customers in the concrete, environmental and mining industries. In addition, expert advice and professional customer service is guaranteed. Spare parts supply also becomes more customer friendly. Mixing Division Manager, Stuart Bentley will be responsible for this division. Based on Bentley“s 23-years of experience in plant manufacturing, construction and the operations of concrete mixing plants, he knows the customer“s needs and has profound practical knowledge of efficient & quality concrete production.

His focus will be consulting and service activities for BHS twin and single-shaft mixers, which are used for various methods of concrete production as well as in environmental and mining applications.

One of the main products BHS manufactures is the DKX „Twin-Shaft“ Batch Mixer, which offers exceptional production efficiency and reliability, particularly when it comes to the mixing of modern concrete types such as ultra high performance concrete (UHPC) and self compacting concrete (SCC).

The BHS twin and single-shaft mixers operate extremely efficiently, producing a constantly homogeneous mix within a rapid batch cycle; DKX twin-shaft batch mixer achieves 95% homogeneous batches within 30 second mixing cycles.

They also operate economically due to the robust construction. The individual mixer components are extremely wear resistant.

Apart from the concrete and precast industries, the mixers are also utilized for many other applications, the moistening of fine materials such as ash, dust, sand, the conditioning of sludge and the production of suspensions.

Dr. Angelo Schmandra, general manager of BHS-Sonthofen’s technical division sees a great potential for BHS in North America. „The establishment of this Mixing Division and the associated capital investment express the great importance that we expand to the North American market. Our twin-shaft batch mixers are gaining more and more acceptance in North America and it is our desire to provide excellent local customer service to our clients there.“

In 1998, BHS-Sonthofen has founded its U.S. subsidiary „BHS-Filtration Inc.“ in Charlotte, which so far has been offering consulting services around the BHS filtration technology division. On the same premises BHS-Sonthofen has now created new jobs and set up a comprehensive stock of mixer spare parts to ensure that replacement parts are always quickly available to North American customers.
