Mannheim, Cologne, September 25, 2012 – Just in time for the Metering Europe 2012 (October 9th to 11th in Amsterdam) the broadband powerline communications provider Power Plus Communications and the software specialist GreenPocket have established a cooperation for smart metering. The goal is to complement the mutual technological know-how and to promote the innovation process within the smart meter infrastructure.
Both companies apply their solutions at different points of the smart meter ecosystem: Power Plus Communications“ broadband powerline technology (BPL) provides an IP-based, secure encrypted real-time transmission of energy consumption data from the meter to the utility company via the electricity network. GreenPocket provides utilities with intelligent software applications that allow households and businesses to analyze and control their energy consumption based on smart meter technology. The solutions of both providers are modularly applicable, extendable and communicate with all common data formats and interfaces.
Power Plus Communications and GreenPocket want to strengthen their cooperation in order to offer their customers and partners well tested solutions. „Smart metering is a promising future market, which must be created conjointly. The exchange of technological know-how between the different providers is an important part of it“, says Dr. Thomas Goette, CEO at GreenPocket. In future, the cooperation is also open to other providers. „The aim of the cooperation is to strengthen and enhance the smart meter infrastructure with shared innovations“, says Ingo Schönberg, CEO at Power Plus Communications.
At Metering Europe 2012, the two companies will demonstrate a BPL data transfer with connected visualization via web portal and iPhone app at the booth of Power Plus Communications (Booth B13).
